Measuring at home

  1. Wrap a strip of paper snugly around the base of the finger.
  2. Mark where it overlaps and measure the length in millimetres.
  3. Find that number in the chart — that is your circumference.

Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and never when cold. A ring has to clear the knuckle — if the knuckle is much bigger than the base, size up.

Most ceramic rings and jewelry are made from titanium carbide, which is sometimes also referred to as high tech ceramic or jewelry ceramic and is a material composed of the metal titanium and a similar number of carbon atoms. Ceramic jewelry can be created with these materials but there are other materials which are also classed as ceramics. High-tech ceramic such as titanium carbide and tungsten carbide are often used for rings and other jewelry. Carbide ceramics have high melting points which make them very strong and durable. Most rings will have to be cut off, but extremely hard materials like tungsten carbide and ceramic rings will need to be "cracked off" rather than cut off.
